The Career Planning and Guidance (CPG) Division comprising of Placement Cell, Training Cell, Industry Institute Partnership Cell and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell has been established as part of our reorganization efforts to strengthen the student centric learning and career building initiatives in the campus
Career Services helps students connect their academic experience to their career path, and it helps employers find emerging talent with the skills needed to advance their business.
1. Placement
As part of MCET dedication to provide its students the very best in life, a full- fledged placement centre functions in the campus under the able administration with the assistance of an experienced faculty in each discipline. The very active placement centre serves as a foundation for many careers by guiding students in right direction through continuous counseling and arranging for campus recruitments .This centre creates a meticulous database and assists the students in getting placed in national & multinational companies through campus recruitment. Till date, several hundreds of our students have been placed in rewarding jobs through MCET.
2. Training
The training division of the college works in close association with the placement and value added education divisions. The division provides assistance to the students in acquiring skills required for immediate employment. The training division aims at developing readily employable graduates with the requisite technical and soft skills. The industry/research requirements are identified and the students are given training by experts from both inside the institution and from outside based on a detailed training calendar every year. The internal training is offered by faculty and peers, whereas the external training is offered by experts in the field from academia/industry/research establishments/consultants etc. The institute has MoUs with several majors in the field of human resource development and training, through which structured programmes are delivered to the students in the pre-final year. The training to students are offered at three levels; during the second semester of study focusing on communication skills, during the second year focusing on personality development and in the third year focusing on soft skills. Parallel training is available on the cafeteria mode on various technical aspects over an above the regular curriculum for all the branches of study rightly called value added education.
3. Entrepreneurship Development Cell
- To create entrepreneurship awareness among the young engineering graduates.
- To motivate entrepreneurship culture among the young technocrats through achievement oriented motivation techniques.
- To make the young graduates to become entrepreneurs.
- To develop nodal centre for designing and fabricating prototype model of the products.
- To provide Market consultancy / facilities, offered by Value Added Centers to the young entrepreneurs.
4. Industry Institute Partnership Cell
The objective of the IIP Cell is to reduce the gap between industry expectations (practice) and academic offerings (theory) by direct involvement of industry to attain a symbiosis
5. Higher Studies
Studying Overseas is a great Challenge that brings increased exposure to the latest technical practices in the industry and to the new culture. With a view to get International exposure, MCET has joined hands with world famous Institutions and Universities abroad. In continuation with the above, the higher studies division of this College aims at offered the services to the students for their betterment of choosing their Post Degree/ Certifications from the best Universities, that will meet both employee and employer needs.
