The structure of benzene by Kekule is one of the most significant discoveries in organic chemistry and was the logo to our chemistry association with the name ALCHEMY. Just as six carbon atoms of the benzene occupy six corners of the hexagon, a chemistry student needs to develop his knowledge in the six important branches of chemistry namely,
- Organic Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Physical Chemisty
- Analytical Chemistry
- Applied Chemistry
- Practical Chemistry
A student who gains expertise in all these branches would become an outstanding chemist. The chemistry association conducts seminars and guest lectures periodically. Every year, during the inauguration of chemistry association, the department honors the students who excel in academics.
For the successful conduct of association activities throughout the year, a student council comprising President, Vice president, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer I and Treasurer II is elected.
