The books taken from the library are to be returned on or before the due date specified in the due date slip sticked in the front page of the books. While taking the books staff and students should write their Roll No. on the due date slip pasted in the book. UG, PG and Research students are eligible to take 2, 3 and 4 books respectively from the library. If a book is not returned on the due date another book will not be issued. If a user fails to return the books on the due date the member is liable to be fined Rs. 1 per day. Reference books, Project Reports, Back Volumes and Periodicals will not be issued. They are only for reference inside the library. Users are allowed to take the photocopies of the required articles of periodicals. Photocopying of full book is not permitted. Students before they go on vacation, should return the library books
- Any kind of marking, underlining, clipping of books is absolutely forbidden. Readers shall be held responsible for any damage done to the book belonging to the Library and shall be required to replace such book or pay the value thereof.
- Bags, Big handbags, Raincoat, Jerkin and Casual wears are strictly prohibited inside the library.
- Members are requested to keep their belongings at the entrance of the Library. However they are advised not to leave cell phones, purse, money, credit card and other valuables in the handbag outside the library. These items are liable to be lost.
- Library users are strictly prohibited from taking the borrowed and stamped books again inside the library.
- Books will not be issued to members on the ID card of others.
- If any book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the person responsible shall replace it with a new copy or pay double the cost of the recent price and handling charges or as may be decided by the Librarian.
- Membership Cards are not transferable. Books will not be issued to students on the Membership Card of staff members. Books will be issued subject to availability only.
- Absence from the college will not be considered as an excuse for the delay in the return of books.
- The Borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of any books issued against his / her library Card.
- Fine amount will not be collected from the students even though books are returned after the Due Date. But, No books will be issued to the students until the students return the book promptly which was already taken. Students’ library account will be locked for one month in case books are returned after the due date.
- Every Monday, Consolidated weekly overdue report (books yet to be returned) will be sent to all the departments and the faculty advisors will inform the students and counsel them.
- Overdue report will be displayed on the Central Library Notice Board every day.
- New books and journals received will be on display for a week.
- Reference books, Newspapers, Magazines, Journals may not be taken outside the library. They are meant for Reference Only.
- Library users are requested to follow the queue while they want to get books or return books.
- Library users are requested to check whether the book is in good condition, when they want to borrow books from the library.
- Library users are requested to write their name and sign in the book card while the book is borrowed.
- After the book is issued or returned, users are requested to confirm in OPAC whether the book has been issued or returned.
- Students are also permitted to recommend some important books to central library when they are in need of books. Books may be recommended with the approval of HOD.
- Strict and absolute silence must be observed in the Library. Cell Phone is strictly prohibited inside the Library.
- Under special circumstances, the Librarian may refuse the issue of books or recall the books already issued from any member without assigning any reason thereof.
- The Library may accept donation of manuscripts, books, periodicals etc. from the donors. Such donations once accepted will become the absolute property of the college.
Several fee concessions and scholarships are awarded annually to the deserving students. They are tenable for the entire course on condition that the holders continue to study in the College till the end of the course and their character, conduct and academic performance are be satisfactory throughout the course.

S.P. Nallamuthu Gounder and Prof. Arokiasamy Reddiyar Memorial Endowment Prize
The Nallamuthu Gounder and Prof. Arokiasamy Memorial Endowment Fund of Rs. 10,000/- was instituted by Prof. R. Padmanabhan, Former HOD of Economics, NGM College, Pollachi in loving memory of the Founder of the College Thiru S.P. Nallamuthu Gounder and his Professor Arokiasamy Reddiyar.
The interest accruing from the amount is to be given as two prizes :
1. Amarar S.P. Nallamuthu Gounder Prize is to be given to two students who secure I and II positions in Thirukkural Competition conducted by the College every year.
2. Prof. Arokiasamy Reddiyar Prize is to be given to the best student in Economics for his / her proficiency.
Thiru. M. Subbaiya Gounder Endowment
Thiru K. Mahalingam, 15, Amaneswarar Koil Street, Mahalingapuram, Pollachi – 2, has instituted an endowment of Rs. 10,000/- in the name of his grand father Thiru. M. Subbaiya Gounder. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to the best student of the English faculty who secures the highest percentage of marks in the major subjects in the first four semester examinations.
The Radha-Narayanan Award
The endowment of Rs. 10,000 was instituted by Prof. A. Balagangadharan, Former HOD of English, NGM College, Pollachi, in the name of his parents M/s. Radha and Narayanan. The interest accruing out of the endowment fund is to be given to the best student in part II English belonging to BA/B.Sc. The student selected for the award should have scored the highest percentage in part II English in four semesters put together and should have no arrear paper to clear in any subject.
Salem – Sankagiri – Naranappan Chavadi Thiru N. Palaniappa Gounder and Muthayammal Memorial Fund
Dr. P. Sundaram, Former Principal, NGM College, Pollachi has instituted an endowment of Rs. 20,000/- in memory of his beloved father and mother. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to the outstanding student of III B.Sc., Mathematics Vth Semester(based on first four semesters mathematics marks) to enable him /her to pay his / her Tuition fees and Examination fees.
Rajeswari Memorial Scholarship
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Thiru K.A. Marannan, Former Dy. HOD of Mathematics, NGM College, Pollachi, in memory of his beloved daughter M. Rajeswari. The interest accruing from the amount is to be adjusted towards the Tuition / Examination fees of a meritorious and rural poor girl student in Mathematics UG / PG course.
Chenniyur Thiru S. Kandasamy Gounder Memorial Scheme
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Thiru M. Gopalaswamy, Former HOD of Mathematics, NGM College, Pollachi. The interest accruing from the amount is to be equally distributed to a boy and a girl student who hail from economically backward families. They should be from a rural area. They must be from the faculty of B.Sc., Mathematics with a good academic record.
K.N. Annaji Rao – Sakupai Endowment Prize
The endowment of Rs. 15,000 has been instituted by Dr. K.A. Gundu Rao, Former Professor and Head of the Department of Physics, NGM College, Pollachi in memory of his parents Shri K.N. Annaji Rao and Shrimathi Sakupai. Prizes will be awarded annually to the student who secures the highest total marks in the M.Sc. (Physics) Degree Examination. The student who secures the highest total marks in Part III in the B.Sc (Physics) Degree Examination.

An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Dr. K. Rangaswamy, Former Director, (SF Courses), NGM College, Pollachi. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to a first year B.Sc. Physics student securing the highest total marks in the major subject.
Sri. Krishnasamy Saraswathi Scholarship
An endowment of Rs. 36,000 has been instituted by Sri. R. Krishnasamy, Former Correspondent, NIA Educational Institutions. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to the deserving student of final year M.Sc. Physics. The amount is to be paid at the begining of the third semester.
Thiru. Murugesa Gounder and Tmt. Saraswathi Endowment
The endowment Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Thiru. M. Chellamuthu & Thiru M. Ramaswamy, L.I.C. Colony, Pollachi. The interest accruing from the amount is to be equally distributed to two students (one boy and one girl) of the Chemistry faculty who secure the highest percentage of marks in the major subject in the first four semester examinations.
Principal Alkondan Memorial Endowment Prize
Dr. T. Jagadeesan, B.Sc., M.B.B.S., D.L.O. has instituted an Endowment Fund of Rs. 15,000/- in memory of the Former Principal M. Alkondan. The interest accruing on the endowment fund is to be utilized to give prize to I B.Sc. Chemistry students (one boy and one girl) securing highest marks in Chemistry and without any arrears in any other subjects in the first two semesters.
Dr. V. Sakthi Endowment Prize
An Endowment of Rs. 40,000/- is instituted by Dr. V. Sakthi, Former Head, Department of Chemistry, NGM College. The interest accuring from the amount is to be given to the economically backward student of II year B.Sc., Chemistry.
“Akash Gold Medal”
An endowment of Rs. 15,000/- has been instituted by Prof. K. Vasantha Kumar, former Professor of Botany, NGM College, Pollachi, in memory of his beloved parents Tmt. Alamelu Ammal, Thiru Kandaswamy and his cousin Dr. Subramanian.
The Gold medal is to be made from the interest accrued with the inscription ‘Akash’ and the engraving of the lotus flower on the front side and on the other side the inscription ‘I Botany, NGM, Poy’ should be engraved. This medal is to be given to the best outgoing III year B.Sc. Botany student every year.
Dr. S. Ramakrishnan Prize Endowment Scheme
The Prize endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Dr. S. Ramakrishnan, Cardiologist, The Pollachi Cardiac Centre, 35, Imamkhan Street, Pollachi – 642 001. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given in cash or by cheque to the best outgoing student of B.Sc., Zoology in NGM College, Pollachi. The recipient should have passed all the major papers – in the first attempt securing not less than 60% in aggregate. If more number of students have secured the same total, the Principal of the College may select the student based on his continuous academic performance, conduct and character.
Vadugapalayam Thiru. V.P. Chandrasekar (Ex.MLA) Endowment
Thiru V.P. Chandrasekar, Ex-MLA, Vadugapalayam, Pollachi, has instituted an endowment of Rs. 10,000/-. The interest accruing from the amount is to be equally distributed to two B.Sc. Computer Science students (a boy and a girl) who secure the highest percentage of marks in the major subjects in the first four semesters of the course.
Kalaivani – Mahavedan Scholarship
An endowment of Rs. 25,000/- has been instituted by M. Sakthi Saravanan Shanmugam Alumni of the deparmtent of Computer Science. The Interest accruing from the amount is to be awarded as a scholarship in the first year to needy and eligible student of Computer Science, selected by HOD of Computer Science every year unit course Completion, provided student shall pass all his / her examination in frist attempt with minimum of 85% attendance.
Dr. Gin Chong, Dr. S. Benjamin Christopher and Dr. P. Maruthu Pandian Endowment Fund
An endowment of Rs. 10,000 is instituted by Dr. Gin Chong, Professor of Accounting, Southampton Business School, Southampton, United Kingdom, Dr. S. Benjamin Christopher, Associate Professor in Commerce and Dr. P. Maruthu Pandian, Associate Professor in Commerce, NGM College, Pollachi. The interest accruing from this fund is to be given to an outstanding and poor student in M.Com., during second year of the programme, every year.
Seethalakshmi-Narayanan-Ananthakrishnan Memorial Award</h6>
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- is instituted by Prof. M. Prasad Kumar, Former Principal, NGM College, in memory of his beloved parents Prof. M. Seethalakshmi and Thiru U.K. Narayanan and his uncle Prof. M. Ananthakrishnan (Laurentian University, Ontario, Canada). The interest accruing from the fund is to be awarded to the student of B.Com. (Aided), securing maximum marks in all part III papers put together.
Arutchelvar Memorial Student Welfare Fund</h6>
Arutchelvar Memorial Student Welfare Fund of Rs. 1,00,000/- was instituted by Alumni of the Department of Economics with an effort of Dr. P. Krishnathulasimani, HOD of Economics, NGM College, Pollachi. The interest occuring from the amount is to be given poor and eligible students of economics, selected by the HOD of Economics every year.
Smt. S. Thilagavathi Scholarship
An endowment of Rs. 10,000 has been instituted by Thiru. S. Vidyasagar, M/s. HI-TECH – Diamond Tools, Kaliyapuram on his mother’s name Smt. S. Thilagavathi. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to the deserving student of first year B.A. History selected by the HOD of History every year.
Thiru K. Palanisamy, Tmt. P. Thangammal and Thiru M. Kandasamy Memorial Endowment
An endowment fund of Rs. 30,000/- is instituted by Thiru M.P. Subramaniam and Tmt. M. Vasuki, 21/2, Kumaran Nagar, Teachers Colony, Behind Bishop School, Tiruppur. Thiru M. Subramaniam has instituted the endowment on his loving memory of his parents Thiru K. Palanisamy, Tmt. P. Thangammal and Tmt. M.Vasuki has instituted in loving memory of her father Thiru M. Kandasamy. The interest accruing from this fund is to be given to an outstanding and economically weak student of B.A. History selected by the HOD of History every year.
Thiru. P. Aruchamy Endowment Scholarship
An endowment of Rs. 20,000 has been instituted by Thiru. A. Ananda Kumar, M/s. Sri Bagavathiamman Coirs, Nattukalpalayam on his father’s name Thiru. P. Aruchamy. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to the deserving student of B.A. History selected by the HOD of History every year.

An endowment of Rs. 20,000 has been instituted by Thiru. R. Jothimani, Ms. Kavin Farm Vellalapalayam in memory of his father Thiru. P. Rengasamy. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to the deserving student of B.A. History selected by the HOD of History every year.
Prof.M. Jeyaprakash Memorial Endowment
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- is instituted by G. Vignesh vice chairman, City Bank Malaysia and alumni of History Department in memory of Former HOD of History Prof.M. Jayaprakash. The Interest accuring in the endowment fund is to be given to the deserving students of History department.
P.N. Narayanaswamy – C. Angammal Endowment
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Dr. N. Ganesan, Former Associate Professor in Commerce, NGM College, Pollachi, in memory of his beloved parents. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to a III year B.Com. (Aided) student who secures the highest aggregate marks in the first four semesters of the B.Com. degree course.
Thiru. T.S. Srinivasaraghavan and Smt. T.S. Vijayalakshmi Endowment Fund
An endowment of Rs. 50,000 has been instituted by Thiru. T.S. Sathyanarayanan, Chennai in the name of his parents Sri. T.S. Srinivasaraghavan and Smt. T.S. Vijayalakshmi. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to the “Best out going student of BBA” selected by the HOD of Business Administration every year.
“Mrs. Annalakshmi Madhavan Nair and Dr. Madhavan Nair Endowment Fund”
The students will be selected by the Principal on merit-cum-income basis.
An award of the scholarship in the First Year is to be awarded subsequently for rest of the course provided he / she passes all the Examinations in the first attempt. If any scholarship holder fails in any one examination, another student may be selected on the basis noted above.
A. Palanisamy Gounder Memorial Prize
The prize endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Sri. A. Thangavelusamy Gounder of Rasakkapalayam in the name of his brother A. Palanisamy Gounder. The interest accruing from the amount will be given to two students of First year Degree Classes who are adjudged as the best sportsman and sportswoman for the academic year.
Kaliannanpudur Tmt. Valliammal Chenniappa Gounder Memorial Fund
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Thiru K.S. Balasubramanian, Former HOD of Physics, NGM College, Pollachi. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to a first year B.Sc. Physics student, selected by the HOD of Physics on Merit-cum- income basis, for securing the highest total marks in all major subjects in the first two semester examinations.
Mrs. Girija Parthasarathy Cash Award
Mrs. Girija Parthasarathy, B.G. and Co. Pollachi, has instituted a cash award of Rs. 3000/- per year to be awarded to a best Final year Degree student who is adjudged by the Principal.
M/s. TNC Subramanian, Dr. R. Ponnuraj and Prof. K.P. Karunanandam Endowment.
The endowment of Rs. 15,000/- was instituted by Dr. V. Ravindraraju, Former Reader in Botany, NGM College, Pollachi, to honour M/s. T.N.C. Subramanian, Dr. R. Ponnuraj, formerly HOD of Botany, NGM College and Prof. K.P. Karunanandam, Former HOD of Zoology, NGM College. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given equally to two poor students of any class (one boy and one girl) with a good academic record, selected by the Principal every year.
N.G.M. College Parents’ Association Endowment Prize
The Parents’ Association of our college has instituted an Endowment Fund of Rs. 17,500/- to award Prizes annually to the meritorious and poor students who are selected by the Principal.
The Pollachi, Rotary Club Award for Poor Students.
The Rotary Club of Pollachi, has instituted an endowment of Rs. 1,50,000/- on the eve of conferring “Meritorious Service Award” to N.G.M. College on 20.06.2010. The interest accruing on the endowment will be given to four poor students of second year degree classes (Aided & SF) who are adjudged as best students by the Principal, every year.
Uraiyur Mariappa Endowment
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Thiru. Mani Chinnasamy, M/s. Santhalakshmi Mills, Uthukkuli, Pollachi to encourage research activities among the staff of NGM College, Pollachi, the interest accrued is to be given to meet TA (II Class Railway fare) to members of the staff participating and presenting papers in Seminars organized by the UGC/University/College. If the fund is not utilized for the purpose mentioned above, it shall be given to the student who secures the highest percentage of marks in the first two semesters put together.
Dr. Nalli Kuppusami Chettiar Translation Award
Dr. Nalli Kuppusamy Chettiar, Chennai has instituted an Endowment fund of Rs. 1,00,000/- for providing assistance to students and staff who involve themselves in the translation of Literary works. The interest accruing on the endowment fund is to be utilized annually for the above said purpose.
Poolavady Thiru. V. Kandasamy Gounder and Tmt. K. Nachammal Memorial Prize
Prof. K. Mailsamy, Former HOD of Mathematics, NGM College, Pollachi and Er. K. Subramaniam, Asst. Divisional Engineer, TNEB, Udumalpet have instituted and endowment fund of Rs. 10,000/- in memory of their beloved parents, Thiru. V. Kandaswamy Gounder and Tmt. Nachammal. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to two students (one boy and a girl) who are adjudged as the best sportsman and sportswoman for the academic year.
Tmt. Malayammal Memorial Endowment Prize
Tmt. Malayammal Memorial Endowment Fund of Rs. 11,500/- was instituted by Thiru P.K. Mylsamy, Advocate, 51 SRMS Mills Street, Pollachi in loving memory of his mother Tmt. Malayammal. The interest accruing from the amount is to be given to one boy and one girl student who are adjudged as best volunteers of NSS Unit during their two years of service. The above students should have also passed in all the subjects in the respective academic years.
Sakthi King Endowment for Nature, Peace and Spirituality
The endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Dr. P.R. Balasubramanian, Former Associate Professor in Zoology, NGM College, Pollachi and S. Ramaswamy, Periakalandai, Kattampatti, Pollachi – 642 202. The interest accruing from the endowment fund is to be utilized to meet out the expenditure on the supply of Ghee / Oil and other items at the time of Deeparathanai of Arulmighu Vidhya Ganapathy and Arulmighu Viyakiana Dhakshinamoorthy Temple in the college premises with a pray for conservation of Nature, Peace around the globe and development of spirituality in human being.
Thiru R. Manoharan Endowment Fund
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Dr. N. Bagyalakshmi, Associate Professor and Head Department of Commerce (SF) NGM College, Pollachi in memory of his beloved uncle Mr. R. Manoharan. The interest accruing from this fund is to be given to every year to pay examination fees of economically backward and poor girls students of B.Com Self Financing.
Manickam Saravanan Endowment Fund
An endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Dr. S. Saravana Babu, Dean (Academic), NGM College, Pollachi. The interest accruing every year from the endowment fund is to be given to the best student in M.Sc. Botany i.e., the students who secures the highest total mark in M.Sc. Botany degree examinations.
C. Gopalapuram (West Kattaikkadu Thiru S. Ramasamy Gounder Endowment)
The endowment of Rs. 10,000/- has been instituted by Lion Arivozhi R. Muthusamy, Retd. Teacher West Kattaikkadu, Puravipalayam. The interest accruing every year from the amount is to be given to the students (1 Boy and 1 Girl) who secure the highest aggregate marks in the “Uzhavu Bharatham” certificate course.
NGM Alumni Association Endowment Fund
Endowment of Rs.1,00,000 has been instituted by Dr. S.Ramakrishnan (PUC-1964) every year and is to be given to selected meritorious and poor students of the college.
Endowment of Rs.15,000 has been instituted by Thiru. ArunmozhiArumugam (Physics:1983-85) every year and is to be given to selected meritorious and poor students of the college.

Application
Application forms can be had from the office on payment of Rs.25/- (exclusive of prospectus).
Application should be submitted to the Principal within 10 days from the date of publication of results.
Separate Application should be submitted for each course for which admission Is sought.
- A Photo statted copy of the H.sc, Mark Sheet should be enclosed with the application
- Photo statted Copies of the UG Mark Sheet (2 Copies) should be enclosed with the Application for PG Programme.
(In case of SC/ST, MBC/BC and DC applicants) A Photo statted copy of the permanent community certificate should be enclosed with the application.
Admission
Admission is subject to verification of Mark Certificates by the Director of Government Examinations and if the Mark Certificate is found to be bogus , admission is liable for cancellation, besides, criminal action will be initiated.
Admission will be made strictly on the basis of merit as per rules stipulated by the Government and as per the rules of eligibility prescribed for the various Programmes by the Bharathiar University.
For Admission to B.Sc ., Programmes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry should have studied Mathematics , Physics and Chemistry in H.Sc. and the admission to the courses will be on the basis of marks secured in the respective subjects in H.Sc.
For Admission to B.A./B.Com.,Degree Programmes selection will be based on the total marks secured in Part III subjects in H.Sc .However , preference will be given to candidates who have studied the relevent subjects in H.Sc.
For Admission to the B.A. Economics and B.com., Degree Programmes, preference will be given to the applicants who have studied Mathematics, Economics and Commerce in H.Sc.
Applicants provisionally selected will be intimated to appear for an interview on a prescribed date.
Sportsmen and other talented students are given preference in all admission .True Copies of Certificates of distinction achieved in Sports, games or social service should be enclosed with the application.
Candidates who are physically challenged are given due consideration in admissions. A certificate furnished by a recognized medical officer should be enclosed.
Reservation for the children of Ex-servicemen of Tamil origin will be as per Govt. rules. They should produce Ex-Servicemen Certificate obtained from the competent authority.

The following original documents are to be produced at the time of interview
- Transfer Certificate.
- Conduct Certificate.
- (I) H.Sc mark sheet for UG Admission, (II) Degree mark sheet for PG Admission.
- Permanent community certificate issued by Revenue authoriry with a Photo statted copy.
Students are advised to take enough number of Xerox copies of their original certificates before submitting them for admission.
