The Management has taken special steps by introducing the Placement Cell and arranging campus recruitment for the students. A large number of students secured placements during different selection camps organized for computer – related, administrative and Front-office jobs including Business Transcription, Medical Transcription and Call Center jobs in reputed companies like Wipro,Infosys, Airtel, TCS, Cognizant Technologies, HP and Digital Global Soft. Around 403 graduates have secured employment through the Placement Cell.
At present, higher education has become very competitive. Students seek admission only in those colleges offering placement assistance. The placement cell of the college was established in the year 2003 with the twin objectives of providing career guidance and placement assistance to final year students. Mr.T.Kalyansundar is the Placement Officer. Generally companies target only Engineering Colleges but with the able guidance of our beloved President, Secretary and Principal, we were able to impress the recruiters that NGM College is a potential source for recruitment.Tie-up arrangements have been made with the Placement cells of the following institutions which act as Nodal Agencies to recruit students in IT and ITES Companies.
Many IT & BPO Companies have agreed to nominate the Placement cell of our College as a Nodal Agency for recruitment.Study Materials:The students are being assisted by providing a CD consisting of the study materials for them to prepare for the interview, in addition to this the profile of nearly 140 companies are also provided. This is very useful for the students to know about the company and also to prepare for the interview. Plan for the future To accelerate the placement activities, it has been decided.
To prepare brochures, department wise, to be sent to prospective employers in IT and other sectors.
To meet in person the HRD managers of companies in Coimbatore, Chennai and Bangalore for arranging campus recruitment in the college.
To arrange more career guidance/ training programmes to develop communication skills and soft skills of the students.
- To evaluate the students in the right perspective way, in order to make them understand the importance of academic excellence, so as to make them competent to face the challenges in the employment sector.
- Moreover, we have to provide them a strong foundation for their employments and make them capable citizens ,an able Entrepreneurs in the country rather than mere employment seekers.
- Closely watch and observe the student’s behavior inside the college campus and correct them whenever we find any obvious mistakes.
- Bring out his hidden talents and potentials effectively.
- Groom the students in their line of interest relevant to the academic studies as for as possible.
- Make them understand the importance the college education, facilities and opportunities available to them so as to shape themselves in the right direction.
- Instigate and educate them to set their goals individually from their hearts and not from their words of mouth.
- Motivate them to achieve the goals namely short term and long term goals with the available resources.
